Who we are

Alex is an experienced dancer, choreographer and yogi based in Chicago, IL.

Alex began dance lessons at the age of 3 and began competitively dancing at the age of 7 in Massachusetts. She trained in jazz, tap, ballet, musical theater and hip hop. In 2012, Alex moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago where she continued to dance daily. She studied ballet under Sarah Cullen Fuller and jazz under Mari Jo Irbe. She was also a member/choreographer of The Dance Company and member/choreographer/president of SCORCH Hip Hop Team.

After graduation, Alex found her post-collegiate dance home with Matter Dance Company, where she has been a company member and choreographer since 2016. Her choreography blends musicality, athleticism, and emotional storytelling, inviting dancers to move with both precision and authenticity.

Alongside her dance career, yoga has been a steady and grounding presence in Alex’s life. First introduced through her home studio, her practice deepened as she navigated major life transitions. Over time, her mat became a constant: a space for reflection, resilience, and growth. After cultivating a consistent practice at YogaSix, Alex took the transformative step to become a Registered Yoga Teacher and earned her 200-hour certification.

With a Master’s in Public Health in Community Health Sciences, Alex integrates her knowledge of anatomy and physiology with her extensive movement training to create classes that are intentional, intelligent, and accessible. Her approach bridges artistry and science, supporting both physical strength and emotional processing. She believes that movement can and should be a tool to move through all of life’s emotions, both joyful and challenging.

In her day-to-day life, Alex works as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Gynecologic Oncology, grounding her work in a deep commitment to equitable healthcare. Across studios, stages, and clinical spaces, she moves with the conviction that dance and yoga are places where everyone belongs. For Alex, movement and community are inseparable and together, they are essential to whole-person health and wellbeing.
